About Vienna University Press

Vienna University Press was co-founded by the University of Vienna and V&R unipress in March 1997. Under company law Vienna University Press belongs to the publishing house V&R unipress. The rector's academic board manages and controls the quality of the publications.

The chair appointed the following as board members:

Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Susanne Weigelin-Schwiedrzik, Vice Rector for Research and Promotion of Young Scientists
Hofrätin Mag. Maria Seissl, Head of the Library and Archive Department
Univ.-Prof. Dr. Hannes Haas, Professor for Journalism Research at the Faculty of Social Sciences
V&R unipress: Susanne Franzkeit, M.A.

V&R unipress publishes at Vienna University Press established research works such as thematically complementing anthologies and monographs, research reports, habilitation papers and outstanding dissertations.

The board of the university decides if works should become part of the programme whereas for a series the publisher of the series decides on the content released.

If you are interested in publishing your work do not hesitate to contact us. We advise you on a non-committal basis and will refer you to the board or the editor in charge.

Every 4-6 weeks an agent of the publisher is present in Vienna in order to advise authors and editors in a one-to-one interview. Please contact us for an appointment.
