These include the publications of the Bundesbeauftragten für die Unterlagen des Staatssicherheitsdienstes der ehemaligen Deutschen Demokratischen Republik (BStU) as well as the Hannah Arendt Institute for the Study of Totalitarianism. Also, the series entitled Kritische Studien zur Geschichtswissenschaft, the publications of the FRIAS School of History, the series Umwelt und Gesellschaft as well as the publications of the Simon Dubnow Institute for Jewish History and Culture are all concerned with themes from modern historical contexts.
