Osnabrück University Press was founded in March 1995. Since January 2003 University Osnabrück Universität Osnabrück and the publisher V&R unipress GmbH cooperate. Under company law the university Press Osnabrück belongs to the publishing house V&R unipress. The university manages the publishing programme via the academic board of the president and oversees the performance of the publishing house as it was agreed on.

Linguistics and Literary Studies: Prof. Dr. Christoph König
Natural Sciences: Prof. Dr. May-Britt Kallenrode
Pedagogy and Cultural Studies: Prof. Dr. Martin Jung
Culture- and Geosciences: Prof. Dr. Thomas Vogtherr

Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Christian von Bar is the chairman of the academic board.

V&R unipress publishes at the University Press Osnabrück established research works such as thematically complementing anthologies and monographs, festschrift, research reports, habilitation papers and dissertations (if marked “magna” or “summa cum laude”).

The board of the university decides if works should become part of the programme whereas for a series the publisher of the series decides on the content released.

Every 4-6 weeks an agent of the publisher is present in Osnabrück in order to advise authors and editors in a one-to-one interview. Please contact us for an appointment.
