Summary
One of the key questions in post-industrial knowledge societies refers to the ways and means of how knowledge is transferred into individual consciousness and public awareness. This essay discusses some of the literary and philosophical paradigms that exemplify aspects of these transformation processes, Durs Grünbein’s epic poemon Descartes and Adorno’s statement on the task of scholarship. In so doing it attempts to give the issue of ›media knowledge transfer‹ some historical depth; examines the wider context of these poetic and discursive explorations of knowledge transfers; and discusses the media-dependency on the ›success‹ of such transfers.
