This report offers insight into the final stage of an analytical psychotherapy begun at the age of 70. Taking early childhood as starting point the author acquaints herself with repressed emotional experiences and learns how to control disintegrated impulses. When trying to cope with conflicts she orientates herself towards the complex occurrences evoked by the analytical situation. The more projections directed at the therapist can be withdrawn the more the therapist appears as an independent person separated from herself. Perceiving the other as an independent individual enables also the author to more and more recognize herself as independent. This development opens new access to the world. Due to the strengthening atmosphere of the analytical situation the author is successful in developing an inner centre capable to support further life. From an alienated inner world Regine Alegiani succeeds in moving on to reality.
Dr. Kurt Hemmer as the treating psychoanalyst wrote the introduction. This book follows the author’s first therapy report under the title »The Belated Quest for Ground« (2009).
