Learning to read and religious education – in this volume these two very important themes in the discussion of the future of our children meet. Printed in a simple, clear font in short sections and lovingly illustrated to please children, the 96 pages of this reader will awaken their desire to learn to read. Included are the most important stories from the Old Testament and the New Testament, told in an easy-to-understand, elementary style. The text is garnished with pictures that support and further reading comprehension. These renarrations also serve to strengthen and solidify what children may have already heard and form the basis for a more intensive study of the theological background of the texts. A glossary of difficult words is also included and allows children to read the texts on their own and establish a basic religious vocabulary.

The project “Children’s Reading Bible” was sponsored by the Schröter Foundation in Neustadt, by the Bibelhaus and Bibelverein (a bible and a bible-study organization) in Neustadt, and by Ulrich Fürüs in Krefeld.

Reviews
»In eine Bibel kann man nur durch lesen hineinwachsen. Kinder können nicht früh genug damit beginnen. Dazu lädt diese Bibel ein.«
