The approach in psychotherapeutic practices is influenced by theoretical ideas in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. This volume deals with theoretic-philosophic aspects: The bipolar disorder model is examined for its theoretical implications. Structure and therapy of psychosis are reflected from the perspective of the psychoanalytic theory of Lacan. The evolutionary aspects of psychosis discussed at present are examined and evaluated. The problems of negativity in psychosis are discussed regarding a possible positive use. In an interview with the 80 year-old Stavros Mentzos, he reflects on his life, work and current issues in psychotherapy.
