Evaluation has assumed a central role in modern German university life. This volume put at the forefront the subjects of evaluation in the new Bachelor and Master´s course of studies, efficient execution of evaluation, the creation and employment of the »right« code numbers, and Europe-wide solutions – but also best-practice examples of well-executed implementations. The recent evaluation conferences in Bonn serve as a forum for exchanging opinions about these themes. At the 3rd ZEM Conference the participants were concerned with the implementation of evaluation results in both theory and practice as well as with measures and consequences of quality control and enhancement. This edited volume with selected contributions from the 2007 conference illustrates the breadth and sophistication of the debate on this theme, and provides both theoreticians and practicians with a number of stimulations as well as concrete information for further involvement with evaluation and quality control.
