Volume 6 of the Walter Hasenclever Yearbook presents itself in a newly revised form. The title "Literature in the Modern Age" puts its future profile in a nutshell. The Yearbook is understood as an open forum for the analysis and discussion of modern literature. Nor should the international networking with other arts that is specific to modern literature be overlooked. In this volume, essays on Kurt Schwitters (by H.E. Friedrich) and Lojze Kovacic (by B. Fetz) testify to the desired expansion across borders towards a European Modern Age and a European Fine Arts.
The publication of the Yearbook also coincides with the award of the Walter Hasenclever Prize for Literature. The Yearbook supplements the laudation and the speech of thanks with literary essays on the respective award winner. In this edition, T. Albrecht, M. Behre, D. Clarke and M. Wirtz examine essential aspects of the works of Christoph Hein.
The Yearbook is also open to texts on the author to whom it is dedicated. The present volume presents the edition of Walter Hasenclever's rediscovered dissertation thesis.
