The most important articles of the social historian Klaus Tenfelde from Bochum, many of which have now become classics in the field.
Klaus Tenfelde shaped the German social history scene over the course of the past decades in a quite distinctive way. This is true also of his articles, in which he combines his usual empirical thoroughness with a fresh approach to modern questions. This volume offers a selection of the most important studies of this important researcher, who died in 2011, on various subjects, such as the life of the working class, social classes, the city and the citizen, the role of clubs/associations in public life, and political parties. Many of them were groundbreaking studies and will continue to inspire readers long into the future.
