The conference »Academic Imam training in Germany. Islamic theology in European context« took place at the university of Osnabrück, 25th-27th February 2010. Various points of views towards the very current topic were given with regard of legal, historic, political, and sociological framework conditions; in European comparison (examples Switzerland, Turkey, Norway, and Bosnia-Herzegovina), according contents, requirements, and academic curricular parameters and transferring to the job description and occupational image of Imams. The result consists of a comprising reflexion of academic Imam training in Germany which intrigues to observe the actual realization and resulting academic, political and sociological developments.
